Pricing

How pricing works

Every job is priced after we see it. Here is what moves the number, and when you get it.

  • What decides the price

Where the work is, how far it runs from the panel, the age and condition of the wiring, what the panel can carry, permit fees and the fixtures you choose.

    • Open attic or finished wall

    • Distance from the panel

    • Age and condition of the wiring

    • Permit and inspection fees

  • What the estimate includes, and what it does not

A photo estimate is a written range for the work as we can see it. It names what is in and what is out, and says how long it stands.

    • Labor, parts and permit

    • Not included: drywall repair and paint

    • Not included: utility company fees

  • What happens at the visit

Someone from the crew comes, looks at the panel, the meter and the run, and takes measurements. A visit has a fee, which we tell you in writing before we come and credit to the job if you book us.

    • An arrival window by text

    • We will not price a panel we have not seen

  • How and when you pay

The estimate says what is due before work starts and what is due when it is finished. Card and check are accepted.

    • A deposit only when the job needs materials ordered

    • Balance on completion

  • If the job changes

Behind a wall we sometimes find old wiring that needs fixing. We stop, show you, and write the change down before we do it.

    • No change without your yes

    • The new total in writing

  • When you get the number

Small jobs: a written range from photos, usually in the next office day. Panels and service work: a final written price after the visit.

    • Always before work starts

    • In English or Spanish

The written estimate

What you read before you say yes

Every estimate has the same parts, so you can compare it with any other you get.

  • The job, in plain words

  • Labor, parts and permit on separate lines

  • What is not included

  • How long the estimate stands

  • Our license class, and where to check it

Questions

Questions we hear before the first call

What does a visit cost, and does it come off the job?

A visit has a fee. We tell you the amount in writing before we come, and it is credited to the job if you book us. Photo estimates are a written range and need no visit.

Do you have to visit before you give a price?

Often, for panels and service changes: we have to see the meter, the wire and the wall. For a new outlet, a fan or a light, photos can be enough for a written range. The final price is written after we have seen the job.

What do I send for a photo estimate?

A wide photo of the panel with its door open, a close-up of the label inside the door, your electric meter, and a photo or short video of the problem. Add your ZIP code. Send them on WhatsApp or by text, in English or Spanish. If you are not sure what to photograph, send what you can see.

Ask for the number
