Questions
Questions about the work, the paperwork and the crew
How do I check your license?
Our Nevada contractor license, class C-2 for electrical work, is in the footer of every page. The Nevada State Contractors Board's website lets you look it up by number or by name before you hire anyone.
What do I send for a photo estimate?
A wide photo of the panel with its door open, a close-up of the label inside the door, your electric meter, and a photo or short video of the problem. Add your ZIP code. Send them on WhatsApp or by text, in English or Spanish. If you are not sure what to photograph, send what you can see.
Do you have to visit before you give a price?
Often, for panels and service changes: we have to see the meter, the wire and the wall. For a new outlet, a fan or a light, photos can be enough for a written range. The final price is written after we have seen the job.
What does a visit cost, and does it come off the job?
A visit has a fee. We tell you the amount in writing before we come, and it is credited to the job if you book us. Photo estimates are a written range and need no visit.
Who pulls the permit?
We do, where the work needs one, and we book the inspection. For a panel or service change we also schedule the utility's disconnect and reconnect, so the power is off for as short a time as the job allows.
Why does my breaker keep tripping?
A breaker trips when a circuit carries more than it should, when there is a short, or when the breaker itself is worn out. Do not hold a breaker on or swap it for a bigger one. If you smell burning, see sparks or find a hot panel, turn off the breaker if it is safe to reach, call 911 if there is fire, then call us.
Do I need a bigger panel for an air conditioner, an EV charger or an ADU?
Maybe. We run a load calculation on your house first. It shows what the panel and the service wire can carry before anything new goes on them. Send photos or book a visit and we will do it.
Do you work on rentals and for contractors?
Yes. For small landlords: smoke and CO alarms, GFCI outlets, panel repairs and unit turns. For general contractors: tenant lighting and power, panels and service changes, scheduled around the other trades. Send plans and a schedule.
Who on your crew speaks Spanish?
Gerardo, Yesenia and Efrain do, and so do some of our field electricians. Tell us when you book that you want a Spanish speaker on site and we will send one. Every estimate comes in English or Spanish, whichever you ask for.
Do you answer calls at night?
No. We do not run an overnight line. Phone, text and WhatsApp are answered during the hours in the footer. For fire, smoke or a burning smell, call 911. If it is safe to reach, turn off the breaker.
Still have a question?
Send it with a photo and we will answer in English or Spanish.
